吉田重信がこれまで扱ってきたさまざまな光の作品の中でも、アクリルを青一色で覆った「臨在」シリーズは静寂さが際立つ。
荷電粒子が作る青い電磁波、チェレンコフの光を絵画で現そうとしたこの作品が、最初に発表された2010年から7年が経つ。
その間、世界情勢、環境、私たちの内面も大きく変わった。しかしどんな時代、場所にも、祈りは在り、人は光に希望を見る。

Among various works on light by Shigenobu Yoshida, the “Being” series of paintings all in blue on acrylic board are noticeably silent. The blue light emitted from electromagnetic waves of charged particles, that is, the Cerenkov light, is the subject of the series,and was firstly exhibited in 2010. Seven years have passed, and we have had big changes in the drift of world affairs,
the environment, and even in our inner lives during the period.
But prayers exist in any age, any place and we see some hope in the light.
吉田重信 Shigenobu Yoshida
1958年福島県いわき市生まれ。主に光をテーマにした制作を続けている。
1991年いわき市立美術館にて自然光の作品 《Infinte Light》を発表。その後、水戸芸術館・宇都宮美術館・広島現代美術館・川村記念美術館・目黒区美術館・岩手県立美術館等にて作品発表。1995年より自然光を使ったワ－クショップ《虹ヲアツメル・虹ノカンサツ》《光の鳥》プロジェクトを国内外で開催し、大きな反響を得る。2011年3月11日の東日本大震災後は、個展およびプロジェクトを通じて、「その後」を伝える活動を継続している。
